Description

Folios 156-157: Spelman Swaine, HMS Helicon, Downs. Provides descriptions of two Seaman who deserted from HMS Helicon when at Dover: John Hunt, 22, from Hampshire and Thomas Hill, 21, an Irishman. They were later discovered by Marine Sergeant John Hands to have enlisted in the Chatham division of the Royal Marines.

Folio 158: enclosure with folios 156-157. Timothy Clinch, Commander, provides detailed description of two supernumerary boys who deserted from HMS Osprey at Gravesend: Robert Biggs, 18, born at Portsmouth and Richard Pidgeley, 16, born at Kingston Near Portsmouth.

Folio 159: enclosure with folios 156-157. Timothy Clinch provides descriptions of four men who deserted from HMS Osprey: John Cunningham, Ordinary Seaman from Kilkenny, Joseph Bonnair, Able Seaman from Quebec, Ludowick Waddy from Norfolk Virginia and William Mordell, Landsman from Collumpton, Devon.
