Folios 298-299: Henry Edwin Stanhope, HMS Ruby, Spithead. Acknowledges receipt of the orders to put himself under Captain Blankett of HMS America. As the squadron will not be ready to sail for some time, he repeats his request, made from Plymouth on 11 February, for a short period of leave to attend to family matters. He had not received any acknowledgement prior to his departure and before arrival at Spithead.
