Folios 217-218: John Clarke Searle, Woolwich. Reports that he has today received the order of 22 June to fit HMS Pelican as soon as possible. This was addressed to him at Deptford instead of Woolwich. The stores for HMS Pelican are at the Woolwich Yard. He understands she is to be taken there as soon as the Carpenters have finished their work at Blackwall. He has not yet received a response to his letter requesting the few men left on HMS Spanker, and the removal of Lieutenant McGill and William March, the Carpenter.
