Description (What the record is about)

Folios 211-212: John Clarke Searle, HMS Spanker, Long Reach. Has discontinued the weekly progress reports as he considers HMS Spanker as fitting. When she is manned she will be ready for any service required. At present there are sufficient men on board to clean and take care of her. He did not think it was necessary to prevent Lieutenant Edgar from leaving for his new appointment until replaced, therefore there is no Commissioned Officer on board other then himself. Neither of the appointed Lieutenants has yet joined.
