Folios 199-200: Alex Scott, [Regulating Officer?], Wick. Sends his weekly report [not present]. There are several seafaring men in Colonel Sir Benjamin Dunbar's Legion who wish to join the navy, if this is approved. He could not attend Dornoch today as he has been awaiting the arrival of the Henry Dundas Excise Cutter to take the men he already has plus any others which arrive. The distances are so great that it would not be practical for them to walk and for him to trust them. His attempts to procure two Petty Officers has been ineffectual. The men in these 2 counties are addicted to the land and will not enter for Service on the sea.
