Folios 505-506: Robert Rolles, Sea Fencibles, Hastings. Following their letter of 20 [January 1809] he applied to the Commanding Officer of the troops who ordered a military escort to convey C Atkins, the Deserter from Pleyden [Playdon] Barracks to Hastings and have just heard of his arrival. He will ask him to be secured in the guard house until he receives instructions for his disposal and subsistence.
