Folios 488-489: Charles Rowley, HMS Eagle, Portsmouth Harbour. States the description and cases of John Claxton and Charles Patridge recently belonging to his ship so that they may be apprehended in the places where it is supposed that they currently live. John Claxton, Clerk, 32 years old. Gives physical description. Born at Beeston, Norfolk, an attorney's clerk until he joined the navy in 1804. His mother and brother live at Beeston where he is likely to be living and it is likely he has forged his [Rowley's] name on a certificate granting leave. Charles Patridge, Ordinary, 33 years old. Gives physical description. Born at Hamburn (sp?) in Warwickshire, a brass founder by trade. He was apprenticed at Birmingham where he is supposed to be now.
