He understands that the Civil Magistrates of the town and neighbourhood and the Commanding Officer of the military wish to celebrated the 50th anniversary of His Majesty's reign on 25 [October 1809]. Asks whether there is any objection to his contributing on behalf of the Navy, by firing a Royal Salute from the Batteries at Hastings, Rye and Eastbourne, where he and his Captains reside.
