Description

Folios 102-103: Robert Rolles, Sea Fencibles, Hastings. Encloses a letter from Lieutenant Charles Forth Wintour requesting permission to resign his post on account of his failing health.

Folios 103A-103B: enclosure with folios 102-103. Letter dated 16 October 1809 from Lieutenant Charles Forth Wintour, Sea Fencibles, Rye, to Captain Robert Rolles, Commander of the Sea Fencibles from Beachy Head to Dungeness. Requests him, through Captain Becker, commander at that post, to ask the Admiralty for permission to resign his post sa Lieutenant of Sea Fencibles from Dungeness to Beachy Head on account of his declining health.
