Folios 79-80: Thomas Richbell, Regulating Officer, General Rendezvous Office, Tower Hill. Alexander Adams 2nd, Master and Pilot of HMS Deptford tender absented himself from his duty on arrival from the Nore under pretence of illness. He sent an inspecting Surgeon to his house to whom he behaved in a most insolent manner. He reported fit to attend to his duty so he directed Lieutenant Bettesworth to order him to go immediately to his vessel and take charge of her to the Nore with newly raised men. He repeated his determination to disobey his commands and refused to carry out the services required of him. Asks for directions as to how to deal with him. He has directed Master's Mate Mr McKenzie to carry out his duties until further orders.
