Folios 225-226: Edward Roe, Hartlepool. Recently arrived in Hartlepool, he has given the Board's instructions to the Deputy Mayor and Chief Magistrate. Mr Spearman accepted, but informed that as instructed by Lord [Robert] Hobart he was enrolling fishermen for a Volunteer Corps in which he would have the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Roe awaits further orders concerning Hartlepool, and will proceed immediately to Sunderland.
