Description

Folios 484-485: Marsh, Page & Creed, Norfolk Street. Requesting that Lieutenant James Russel is confirmed as commander of HMS Transfer, granted to him by Lord Keith.

Folios 486-487: enclosure with folios 484-485: Letter dated 10 December 1800 by Lord Keith to Lieutenant James Russel, HMS Flora Russel. Thomas Livingstone commander of HMS Diadem is to take command of HMS Atheien. John Lamour commander of HMS Wassenaer is to take command of HMS Diadem. Frederick Lewis Maitland commander of HMS Cameleon is to take command of HMS Wassenaer. Edward O'Bryen commander of HMS Flora is to take command of HMS Cameleon. Lieutenant James Russel of HMS Flora to be acting commander of HMS Transfer, He is to observe the General Printed Instructions and such orders as he will receive from time to time from Keith or superior officers.
