Folios 608-609: Thomas Macnamara Russell, HMS Vengeance, Portland. Admiral Harvey ordered him to take a convoy to the Leeward Islands with HMS Pearl and Perdrix on 8 May 1799. Those bound for Nova Scotia separated on June 25 1799. He ordered HMS pearl to protect those that were bound for Bristol and St Georges Channel. On June 29 1799 he arrived at lands End and will go on to St Hibbs and the Downs. Th transports will go to Wight.
