Folios 596-597: Thomas Macnamara Russell, HMS Vengeance. Sailed from Portola on 8 May 1799 with 260 ships bound for Nova Scotia, America, Newfoundland and Africa. The Camelion sprung a leak and returned to Portola and the Nancy left for the Bahamas. The Hopewell ran down the Apollo on 13 May 1799. The Eliza, Crondale and Ariadne, Master James Oughterson all carry copies of this letter, Vice Admiral Harvey can give other details of the convoy.
