Folios 2510253: enclosure with folios 249-250. Letter dated 24 May 1801 from William Henry Rickett, HMS Naiad at sea to Admiral Cornwallis, Commander in Chief. Nothing but the unjustifiable conduct of the master of the Dart privateer of Dover in having set sail in defiance of his orders and not stopping, till a number of gun were discharged at her, could have induced him to impress so many of her men, notwithstanding that he was short of complement. necessitating him to fire on the
