Folios 205-206: William Ricketts, Port [Tiaccphi?], Ithaca. Enclosing a letter from Captain Thomas Rogers, senior officer in the Adriatic re removing HMS flag from the island of Zante. By the spirited conduct of the British Vice Consul and the Ithaceans are now enjoying a tranquillity little known in the neighbouring islands.

Folios 209-210: enclosure with folios 215-216: Letter dated 14 September 1801 from William Ricketts, HMS El Corso, Bay of Zante to Thomas Rogers, senior officer in the Adriatic. He has on board Mr Foresti, HM Consul at the seven united island, His Excellency Beonita Piera VP of the republic and some Albanian chiefs. He joined the Turkish VA Seremit Bez Patrona and proceeded with the Turkish force to Zante to challenge the Governer in Chief Callender. He received information that the expedition had been anticipated, the batteries reinforced, several thousand peasants called into the town and furnaces lit to heat the shot under the direction of Callender. Reports showed that Cephalonia and Ithaca were also going to do the same. In spite of Turkish reluctance, he has move HMS El Corso near the town making known his intention of attacking the battery. He sent in the enclosed note to appeal to those who tho' acting on error might partly have erred from affection to the British flag' and offered negotiation. He sent in First Lieutenant Yeo at 4 o'clock to haul down British flag and the forts saluted with 13 guns. and on the islands colours being hoisted, he saluted them with 21 guns. Callender has absconded,
Folios 211-212: enclosure with folios 215-216. Letter dated 13 September 1801 from William Ricketts, HMS El Corso, Bay of Zante, to the persons exercising the powers of Government in Zante. As flying the British flag shall no longer shield them, he informs them that a British Ship of War bearing the orders of its sovereign has arrived to suppress the 'abuse' of the British flag . The British Consul General Mr Foresti is on board.
Folios 213-214: enclosure with folios 215-216. Letter dated 13 September 1801 from Banlio Malvi, Zozi Coipalzano, Paolo Cladi, Antonio Mariziningo and Grellio Gravopodi of Zante to William Ricketts, HMS El Corso, Road of Zante. Zante raised the British flag as the basis of a proclamation of Nelson and on his promise to protect whichever of the islands that would display it. The General Consul Thiridion Foresti will be welcome on shore.

Acknowledging the receipt of letter dated 13 September 1801. They are ordered to take down the British flag and he will send an officer to haul them down from the principal forts.

Giving details of the unrest in Zante, Cephalonia and Ithaca, what happened and the role of Mr Foresti and the officer in hauling down the flag.
Folios 219-220: enclosure with folios 215-216. Letter dated 13 September 1801 from William Ricketts, HMS El Corso, Bay of Zante, to the persons exercising the powers of governments in Zante. A British ship of war has arrived in Zante demanding that they immediately cease the abuse of the British flag. The British Consul General Foresti is on board and will treat with them. British colours will no longer shield them and whenever they display them, he will be the first to fire the first shot.
Folios 221-222: enclosure with folios 215-216. Letter dated 13 September 1801 from the men in folios 213-214, Zante, to William Ricketts, HMS El Corso. Repeating the reasons why they hoisted the British flag re Nelson and stating that General Consul Thiridion Foresti is welcome on shore.
Folios 223-224: enclosure with folios 215-216. Letter dated 14 September 1801 from William Ricketts, HMS El Corso, Bay of Zante, to the persons exercising the powers pf government in Zante. Copy of a letter acknowledging receipt of letter dated 13 September 1801. His orders are that British colours are instantly removed from every part of Zante at 4 o'clock. He will send an officer to haul them down from the principal forts and asks that the British officer is respected.
