Folios 159-160: William Richardson, HMS Autumn, Leigh Roads. reporting that on Sunday 6 December 1801 the Bombay Castle, East India Man working on the river ran aground and he sent an office to offer assistance. Captain Hamilton requested a lieutenant and 25 men to assist him to Gravesend. When the they returned 5 men had deserted undetected at Gravesend.
Folio 161: enclosure with folios 159-160. List, undated, of the 5 men belonging to HMS Autumn who deserted the Bombay Castle East India Man at Gravesend on the night of 7 December 1801. They were William Jones, William Bullen, John Close, Robert Olives and Adam David,
