Folios 158-159: Henry Raper, HMS Amiable, Plymouth. Lieutenant Carpenter went to the hospital on the 14 September 1799 but was not admitted as he did not have a sick ticket so he remained aboard until September 17 when he went agian but his ticket was dated the 14th of September not the 17th. That has been corrected but he was not admitted until the 21st as he did not appear until then so his rather rude letter to Raper is not warranted. He wants the weeks pay that he says he missed.
Folios 160-161: Enclosure with folios 158-159: From Lieutenant [Dawe] Carpenter, Royal Hospital [Monettguse] to Henry Raper, October 11 1799. He wants to know why his certificate was not signed as it was Raper's fault he did not enter the hospital until September 21
