Folios 148-149: Henry Raper, HMS Aimiable, Spithead. Jacob Boyard, American, was pressed at Hull to HMS Zealand but demanded bounty as a volunteer. The Midshipman disallowed his American protection as he had taken a shilling. James Murphy now on Amiable, late of HMS Nautilus, says this statement is correct as he was present during the transaction.
