Folios 90-91: David Ramsay, Regulating Officer, Greenock. Peter Adam was impressed by Lieutenant Tyre. He has lost his papers and apprentice coopers have to go on the herring boats so he thinks they are under Seafaring Law so he does not feel he can free him even though prosecution against him will follow.
Folio 92: enclosure with folios 90-91. Letter dated 26 October 1799 by Hugh Crawford, Greenock. An indenture for Peter Adam as an apprentice to Daniel M. Jackton, Cooper, was written in his office on July 8 1796 and given to the Master of the herring fishing vessel.
