Administrative / biographical background

The first Director General of Naval Manpower was appointed in 1959. Previous to this his responsibilities were shared between the Deputy Chief Naval Personnel (Manpower Planning), the Deputy Chief Naval Personnel (Training), and the Director of Manning.
