The Operational Commander was responsible for the command of the Operation in accordance with the policy laid down by the Atomic Weapons Trials Executive. Commodore Martell was appointed in June 1955. Charles Adams of the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston was Scientific Director.
