Folios 237-238: Richard Matson, Westminster. The Navy Board have complained about the state of the accounts of the Carpenter when he commanded HMS Daphne. He explains that the ship was in the West Indies and was in a very sickly state with the Carpenter having recently died. He took a survey of the stores when they arrived at Port Royal in the presence of the Carpenter appointed by the Admiral.
