Description

Folios 141-147: Correspondence regarding the discharge of combustible stores ensigned to Ordnance Depot permitted to take place from merchants vessels in the man of war anchorage.

Encloses letter (folios 142-145): G F Bowen, Government House, Hong Kong dated 29 November 1883 to Commodore Cuming RN, regarding an application from military authorities (enclosed, folios 141-144) for permission to discharge combustible store from man of war anchored.

Encloses letter (folio 146): George O Willes, Vice Admiral, Commander-in-Chief, HMS Audacious at Hong Kong dated 15 December 1883 to His Excellency, Sir George F Bowen, Governor of Hong Kong, acknowledging the request and stating no objections.

Encloses letter (folio 147): George O. Willes, Vice Admiral, Commander-in-Chief, HMS Audacious at Hong Kong dated 4 January 1884 to the Commodore, Hong Kong, forwarding the decision regarding the merchant vessels which have combustibles or ordinance.
