Folios 241-242: John Rennie, Kinghorn, North Britain [Scotland]. Refers to his reporting of his arrival from America on 28 April 1797 but as a consequence of the loss of HMS Bermuda, to whose command he had been appointed from HMS Lynx by Admiral Murray on 21 October 1796, he had not been able to join her. Reminds the Admiralty of his application, to which he has not received a reply, to be paid as Commander from 14 August 1796, the day of his appointment to HMS Lynx to 28 April 1797, the day of his arrival in England. Explains that he was obliged to remain on shore in America waiting for HMS Bermuda and then obliged to make his passage home on an American ship, both of which incurred additional expenses.
