Description

Folios 233-234: Thomas Rawe, HMS Royal Oak, Portsmouth Harbour. Encloses weekly Journal of Proceedings for the prison ships and on shore prisons under his command.

Folios 235-236: enclosure with folios 233-234. Journal of Proceedings for the prisons and prison ships at Portsmouth and the neighbourhood, 24 December 1797 to 30 November 1797 compiled by Thomas Rawe.r eports that on Saturday 30 Deccember 1797, 134 Frencg boys and invalids emabrked on HMS Ariel cartel and 400 French prisoners on 2 cartels. HM Ship Vigilant, Sultan, Fame, Goodwood, and Pegaze also mentioned.
