Description

Folios 435-436: John Monkton, HMS La Lutine, Sheerness. Reporting the bad conduct of Sergeant James Brooks, as told in a letter received from Lieutenant Bell, commanding the marines on La Lutine.

Folios 437-438: enclosure with folios 435-436. Letter dated 2 February 1799 by Michael Bell, 2nd Lieutenant, Marines, HMS Lutine stating that Sargent James Brooks has conducted himself with impropriety and is unfit for the position he holds.
