Map 9. United States of America: Washington, Oregon. 'A Diagram of a Portion of Oregon Territory. Surveyor General's Office Oregon City, October 21st 1852'. Shows the country between Vancouver Island and the northern boundary of California, showing township areas. Reference table distinguishing townships already subdivided from those to be surveyed in 1853 and 1854. Scale: 1 inch to 10 miles. Lithographed by A Hoen and Co, Baltimore. The signature of John B Preston, Surveyor-General, is reproduced. The words 'Senate ex doc. No. 1 2 d. Sess 32d Cong.' appear at the top of the map. In a volume of maps on the Juan de Fuca boundary question sent to Admiral Prevost, Berlin, 12 June 1872. Lithographed by A Hoen and Co, Baltimore.
