Folios 179-180: Frederick Lewis Maitland, HMS Loire, Plymouth Sound. Reports that the Victualling Office has refused to supply his ship with lemon juice and sugar on the grounds that it is not part of the Channel Fleet. Since there are signs of scurvy among his crew because it has not been possible on the Irish station to secure fresh beef and beer, asks if he can be given the same supplies as the Channel ships.
