Folios 127-128: George McKinley, HMS Lively, Spithead. Reports his arrival with a convoy from the River Tagus, HMS Iris parted company on 14 October with those vessels bound up St George's Channel. He is carrying packages addressed to the Duke of York from Major James Burke, and also $86,000 consigned to London merchants. Encloses a copy of his orders from Admiral the Earl St Vincent, his orders to Captain John Tower of the Iris, a list of defects and [not present] a convoy list and the state and condition of his ship. Postscript. He has just been ordered by the pratique officer to anchor at Mother Bank because he touched at Gibraltar.

Folios 131-132: enclosed with folios 127-128. Copy of orders dated 4 October 1806 from Captain George McKinley, HMS Lively, the Tagus, to Captain John Tower, HMS Iris. He is ordered to join the convoy to England and take charge of those vessels bound for Liverpool, Dublin and Greenock, then return to Falmouth for water and rejoin the squadron off Ushant. If he becomes separated from part of the convoy, he should cruise for one week at the entrance to St George's Channel to protect the rest from attack.
Folios 133-134: enclosed with folios 127-128. Copy of orders dated 27 September 1806 from Admiral the Earl St Vincent, Commander in Chief, Channel Fleet, HMS Hibernia, the River Tagus, to Captain George McKinley, HMS Lively. He is ordered to escort the convoy to England with all British vessels and such Swedish vessels as Swedish Consul, Mr Kautzon, shall nominate. The British pro-Consul, Mr Sampson, will give him the names of the British vessels. Vessels bound for Liverpool, Dublin or Greenock should be escorted well North of the Scilly Isles and the rest up the English Channel. If HMS Iris joins the convoy, she can be given charge of those vessels bound up St George's Channel and should then return to Falmouth, take on water and rejoin the squadron off Ushant.
