Folios 121-122: George McKinley, HMS Lively, the River Tagus. Reports that since his last letter he parted company with the convoy and sailed to Oporto to arrange the sailing of the next homeward-bound convoy. As the merchants there were not clear when it would be needed, he left HMS Milbrook to contact the British Consul, Mr Warne, and went on to the Tagus. A convoy was due from there on 21 September, escorted by HMS Curieuse and HMS Star. On arrival he received the enclosed orders from Admiral the Earl St Vincent.
Folios 123-124: enclosed with folios 121-122. Copy of orders dated 21 September 1806 from Admiral the Earl St Vincent, Commander in Chief, Channel Fleet, HMS Hibernia, the River Tagus, to Captain George McKinley, HMS Lively. He is directed to place himself under the Admiral's command. Countersigned by John Parker on behalf of the Admiral.
