Folios 90-91: Enclosed with folio 92. John McKerlie, Garliestoun, Galloway. Explains that as a Midshipman he lost his right arm in a battle with the Droits de l'Homme while serving aboard HMS Indefatigable under Sir Edward Pellew, as a result of which he was given a pension of £7 13s 4d a year. When he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant he lost this pension because no commissioned officer received a pension from the Chatham Chest. Asks the Admiralty to take his circumstances into consideration, but declares he is ready to serve at any time.
Folio 92: John McKerlie, Garliestoun, Galloway. Encloses a letter to be laid before the Admiralty.
