Description

Folios 240-241: George Reynolds, HMS Tribune, Spithead. Informing of his arrival at Spithead and of the route of the convoy past Cape Clear. Due to high winds he waited for a time between England and Ireland. There are a great many passengers on board. Captain Baker sent a list of 109 vessels bound for Ireland, Bristol and othe ports. He encloses a copy of Captain's Baker's order to him, a sick report and details of defects of the ship.

Folio 242: enclosure with folios 240-241: a list of the sick and wounded between April and June 1813 on the Tribune, which was employed in the West Indies and in a convoy to England.

Folio 243: enclosure with folios 240-241: an account of the defects of HMS Tribune, itemised by Captain George Reynolds and confirmed by the Carpenter. Defects include decayed ends of the main deck beams and a great part of the main deck requiring replacement.

Folio 244: enclosure with folios 240-241: An order [copy] from Thomas Baker, Captain of HMS Cumberland, to George Reynolds to take charge of the merchant ships and vessels named in an accompanying list [list not enclosed] bound to Cork, Bristol and up St George's Channel. Then to proceed to Spithead. He will also receive from HMS Scorpion a list of vessels bound for Greenock and Glasgow which he should see as far as the Smalls.
