Folios 113-114: Wilson Rathborne, North Shields. Giving information about Samuel Jordan and enclosing his Affadavit as Mate of HMS Transit. Jordan was impressed by Lieutenant Newcastle, suspected as a deserter. He claimed to have worked on the Abundance Store Ship, and to have been discharged, but has no certificate as proof. He also claims to have been taken in a merchant vessel to Dunkirk where he remained a prisoner, until his escape to Yarmouth in a boat with five others.
Folios 115-117: Enclosures with folios 113-114. Affadavit dated 14th June 1813 from Justices of the Peace for Norfolk, including Robert Lane, Thomas Gough and [John Hurrell]and letter of 18th June 1813 from John Norman, requesting the discharge of Samuel Jordan who was Mate of the vessel Emily. He was detained on suspician of being a deserter.
