Folios 512-513: Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan, Deptford. Encloses a letter which he omitted from his reply on 19 October concerning Benjamin Barnard.
Folios 514-515: enclosed with folios 512-513. Letter dated 16 October 1800 from Benjamin Barnard, HMS Hindostan, Deptford, to the Admiralty. Asks to be discharged from the Hindostan to a post in Deptford Dockyard, to allow him to better support his family. Points out that he has served in the Navy since the American War of Independence, in HMS Charon and HMS Foudroyant with Captains John Luttrell and Sir John Jervis, and since in HMS Windsor Castle with Vice Admiral Robert Man and HMS Bedford with Sir Thomas Byard. Asks that Captain Joshua Mulock not be told about his request.
