Folios 463-464: Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan, Motherbank. Reports his arrival and gives an account of his voyage since leaving Port Mahon with a troop convoy bound for Leghorn [Livorno]. Encloses a copy of his report to Vice Admiral Lord Keith on the results of his negotiation with the Dey of Algiers, a list of defects and a extract from his journal, and also [not present] his convoy list from Gibraltar. Mentions: Captain Davidge Gould, Admiral Sir Richard Bickerton, HMS Kent, HMS Swiftsure, HMS Dragon, HMS Hector, HMS Termagant, the merchant vessel Liberty, Cadiz, Cape St Vincent, Spithead.
Folios 465-468: enclosed with folios 463-464. Copy of a report dated 15 June 1800 from Captain Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan, Genoa, to Vice Admiral Lord Keith, Commander in Chief, Mediterranean. Gives an account of his voyage from Port Mahon to Algiers with John Falcon, British Consul General, and his suite, his orders to Captain Samuel James Ballard of HMS Pearl to intercept Spanish ships and his negotiations with the Dey of Algiers and his officials to secure the release of the various nationalities who had been captured and enslaved. Encloses copies of his orders to Captain Ballard. Mentions Cape Matifoe, Palermo, Constantinople, HMS Mercury, Captain Thomas Rogers, Minorca.

Folios 470-471: enclosed with folios 463-464. Copy of Order No 1 dated 13 May 1800 from Captain Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan, Port Mahon, to Captain Samuel James Ballard, HMS Pearl. As Rear Admiral Lord Nelson has told him that Spanish warships carrying quicksilver are about to sail from Palermo along the Barbary Coast, the Pearl is to accompany the Hindostan to Algiers and then to search for these ships and any neutral vessels which might be carrying some of the Spanish specie.
Folios 472-473: enclosed with folios 463-464. Copy of Order No 2 dated 24 May 1800 from Captain Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan, at sea off Algiers, to Captain Samuel James Ballard, HMS Pearl. Because of sickness among the Pearl's company, he is to return to his station as appointed by Vice Admiral Lord Keith, but if possible see the El Volace prize safely into Port Mahon.
Folios 474-475: enclosed with folios 463-464. Captain Joshua Mulock, HMS Hindostan. An extract from his journal covering the voyage to the Mediterranean since leaving Falmouth on 11 February, up to his departure from Gibraltar on 13 August.
