Folios 445-446: Zachary Mudge, HMS Fly, Spithead. Encloses a letter from Purser William Macleod stating that he has not neglected his duty. He was waiting for approval of the exchange of ships which he and Henry Godfrey had requested but heard nothing from the Admiralty or the Navy Board. As the Fly is now ready for see, asks where Mr Macleod can obtain his warrant
Folios 447-448: enclosed with folios 445-446: Letter dated 4 November 1800 from Purser William Macleod, HMS Cygnet, Portsmouth Harbour, to Commander Zachary Mudge, HMS.Fly. Reports he and Henry Godfrey received no reply to their request to exchange ships. Asks the Commander to write to the Admiralty, as no warrants for the exchange have been issued.
