Letter (300-11): Commodore G Digby Moraut, HMS Victor Emanuel at Hong Kong dated 12 Aug 1884 to Vice Admiral Sir W M Dowell KCB, China, on the Torpedo Service at Hong Kong. Encloses a plan of the RN Yard at Kowloon [has been removed with reference MFQ 1243/2] and a letter from the Royal Engineers.

Letter (324-25): Admiralty (signed P Smith, Director of Works), 71 Spring Gardens, S. W. dated 8 May 1885 to Vice Admiral Sir W M Dowell, KCB, Commander-in-Chief, China Station, on the imminent provision of [Luartes] for Petty Officers at Kowloon.
Encloses a letter addressed to the Commodore. Letter (326-27): Admiralty (signed I Brandsworth, Controller), dated 5 July 1885 to the Secretary to Commodore, Hong Kong, informing that by the end of the year six First Class Torpedo Boats will be sent from England. Also requests a report on the preservation of boats at the station.
Note (328-29) by Commodore G Digby Moraut to the officer superintended works for depot, regarding the location of boat slips.
Extract of letter (330): Commodore Moraut, dated 15 Aug 1885 to Admiral Sir W Dowell, Commander-in-Chief, regarding the Torpedo Boat slips at Kowloon.
Letter (331): Admiral W Dowell, HMS Audacious at Yokohama dated 5 Sept 1885 to Sir George F Bowen GCMG, Governor and Commander in Chief, Hong Kong, regarding the necessary increase of the Naval Yard at Kowloon. Suggests that land adjoining the Naval Yard where a 'Squatter' village is located should be appropriated.
Letter (332-33): G F Bowen, Government House, Hong Kong dated 30 Sept 1885 to Admiral Sir W Dowell KCB, Naval Yard, Hong Kong, regarding the land requested by the Navy, remarking that due to the area including certain proposed main roads, it cannot legally be closed. A plan of the area was enclosed [has previously been removed with reference MFQ 1243/3].
Letter (334): Admiralty (signed Evan Macgregor), dated 28 July 1885 to Admiral Sir W M Dowell KCB, China, informing that items 1 and 3 on Colonel Walker's list are to be made locally and information from who and where the remaining items will be supplied.
Letter (336): Admiral W M Dowell, HMS Audacious at Hong Kong dated 27 Oct 1885 to the Secretary of the Admiralty, outlining three plans on the accommodation of the additional Torpedo Boats at Hong Kong. Mentions a preference for plan 1.
Letter (337-48): Commodore G Digby Moraut, HMS Victor Emanuel at Hong Kong dated 12 Oct 1885 to the Secretary of the Admiralty, Whitehall, S.W., on proposal for preservation of six First Class Torpedo Boats at Hong Kong, outlining three different plans for the accommodation of the boats. A schedule of enclosures to this letter is present which lists 7 enclosures.

Letter (364-65): Admiral W M Dowell, HMS Audacious at Yokohama dated 5 Sept 1885 to Sir George F Bowen GCMG, Governor and Commander in Chief, Hong Kong, requesting to reserve land at Kowloon and proposal to extend the sea wall to form a continuation to the northward of the naval yard.
