Folios 94-99: Letter from Nowell Salmon, Vice Admiral, dated 15 October 1890 to the Secretary of the Admiralty, submitting flags carried by Chinese ships. These include illustrations of examples of the National Flag flown by Man-of-War and Merchant ships (folio 95), the flag used by ministers of the board of admiralty governors, ambassadors and ministers and the flag used on feast days (folio 96), the flags used by commodores (folio 97) and by the admiral (folio 98).
