Folios 93-100: Correspondence regarding a program of surveying work to be performed by the HMS Flying Fish during 1884.
Encloses letter (folios 93-99): J P Maclear, Captain (in charge of Survey), HMS Flying Fish at Hong Kong dated 16 January 1884 to Vice Admiral George O Willes CB, Commander-in-Chief, submitting a proposed plan of survey work (folios 96-99) for HMS Flying Fish on quitting Hong Kong in February 1884. A tracing of coast 2347 from the HMS Flying Fish has been enclosed [removed with reference MPI 492/5].
Encloses letter (folio 100): George O Willes, Vice Admiral, Commander-in-Chief, HMS Audacious at Hong Kong dated 19 January 1884 to Captain John F P L Maclear, HMS Flying Fish, suggesting that on completing the proposed survey the HMS Flying Fish should proceed to Corea [Korea] for further survey work.
