Folios 63-68: Letter from S Long, Captain and Senior Officer, HMS Curaçoa at Shanghai dated 2 January 1882 to Vice Admiral George O Willes CB, Commander-in-Chief, regarding the position of a telegraph cable in the Yangtse river. Encloses a letter (folios 65-66) from the HMS Swift which has accidentally hooked a telegraph cable when weighing anchor. A letter from the telegraph company regarding this telegraph line is enclosed (folio 67) as is a plan showing the line [previously removed with reference MPI 492/3].
