Folio 293: George Reynolds, Deal. He objects to Gang members becoming Sea Fencibles. He complains that Captain Rains has enrolled Ticketmen as Fencibles without Reynolds' knowledge. The Captains of the Sea Fencibles at Dover, Deal and Margate have avoided interfering with the men attached to the rendezvous.
Folio 294: enclosure with folio 293 (attached). Letter dated 27 September 1805 from J. Holloway at Utrecht in the Downes to Captain Irwin, regulating the Impress Service at Deal. Captain Fabian, commanding the Sea Fencibles at Deal, has been instructed to discharge all who were originally Ticket Men. He requests they be taken under the command of Captain Irwin and if any refuse to embark, employ substitutes, or require pay exceeding the allowance they will be dismissed as Ticket Men and impressed.
