Folios 273-274: George Reynolds, Deal. He encloses a letter from [Nathaniel] Edgar and finds his accusations correct of Lieutenant Gregory who he recommends should receive a severe reprimand rather than dismissal for selecting men belonging to his gang to navigate. Gregory is sensible of his error.
Folios 275-276: enclosure with folios 273-274. Letter dated 4 August 1807 by A. Thomas Gregory who apologises for sending three of the gang up the river.
Folios 277-278: enclosure with folios 273-274. Letter dated 1 August 1807 from [Nathaniel] Edgar, Guardian of the Poor of the Parish of St Marys, Dover. He complains on behalf of the boatmen of the port who are impressed by Officers for private benefit. These boatmen earn their living by assisting ships both in the port, and on the route to London, and he seeks redress for them.
