Description

Folios 189-190: George Reynolds, Deal. Informing that Francis Scoones was impressed on board a London Trader and had no protection , according to Lieutenant [Gregory's] report.

Folio 191: enclosure with folios 189-190. Letter dated 24 February 1807 by A. Thomas Gregory in Dover to George Reynolds. He gives reasons for his impressment of Francis Scoones, who had been on board a trader from London, and could not produce any document to prove leave of absence.

Folio 193-194: enclosure with folios 189-190. Letter from J Holloway, Vice Admiral, transmitting documents from Major Rich, Commander of the Corps of North Fleet Volunteer Infantry, confirming Francis Scoones to be a Private in the corps, impressed onto HMS Princess of Orange.

Folios 195-196: enclosure with folios 193-194. Letter from [G. Thick], Commander of the Northfleet Vounteer Infantry, requesting Francis Scoones be discharged from HMS Princess of Orange.

Folio 197: enclosure with folios 193-194. Confirmation by J. Sydney Horton of HMS Princess of Orange, that Frances Scoones is 21 years of age, a millwright who answers the descriptions in the enclosure.
