Description

Folios 234-235: James Rose, HMS Hearty, Yarmouth. As ordered by RA Sir Charles Rowley, he has been cruising off Hamboro Head impressing crew. He detained John Inkstar, George Woods and Benjamin Dobson and believes their impressing is valid. He enclosed the Indentures & Protections relating to them.

Folio 236: enclosure with folios 234-235. Wallet giving more details of the height of Benjamin Dobson.

Folios 236A-237: enclosure with folios 234-235. Indenture dated 4 January 1813 from the Commissioners for executing the office of Lord High Admiral of Great Britain and Ireland to all commanders & Officers of HM ships, pressmasters etc, relating to Benjamin Dobson.

Folio 237A: enclosure with folios 234-235. Protection dated 15 July 1813 from the Commissioners of John Inkstar bound to Joseph Devey of Battersea to serve at sea by Indenture 14 June 1813.

Folio 237B: enclosure with folios 234-235. Wallet enclosing folio 237c giving details of a change in John Inkstar's height.

Folio 237C: enclosure with folio 237B. Indenture dated 14 June 1815 of John Inkstar, son of John Inkstar of the Orkney Isle, Rosay, farmer, apprenticed to Joseph Devey the younger of the Coal Exchange, London Coal Factor.

Folio 237D: enclosure with folios 234-235. Wallet enclosing 237E-237F giving details of a change in George Woods' height.

Folio 237E-237F: enclosure with 237D. indenture dated 21 July1813 of George Dobson, apprenticed to William Stovell of Petworth, 5 October 1812.
