Folios 259-260: William Gordon Rutherford, Greenwich Hospital. He asks to be paid the freight charges for money conveyed by me in HMS Swiftsure in various voyages as evidenced in the enclosed documents [not present] and a copy of HMS Swiftsure’s logbook [not present] and the Agent’s letters to me [not present], also encloses [not present] a letter received from the Treasury, this subject was not paid long ago and the only answer is that the Commissioners General did not pay it, although a receipt was lodged with my Agents, Cooke and Halford, when I came home in HMS Swiftsure to get the freight.
