Folios 248-249: Alexander Renny, HMS Trinculo, off Cape Wrath. Reports boarding a schooner, Jane of London, bound for Dublin with deals, and an American privateer brig from Christiansand who was going to cruise off the Butt of Lewes.
Folio 250: enclosure in folios 248-249. Note undated from Alexander Renny, HMS Trinculo. Reports that The Rattlesnake armed brig of 16 guns and 120 men took the Jane of London brig bound from Archangel to London off the North Cape and had taken 16 Norwegian sail and would not allow them to sell their cargos which were bound for France, Rattlesnake took the brig Ann Elizabeth of Peterhead off Cape Finisterre and then sailed to France to take cargo to America.
