Description

Folios 219-220: Peyton and Grenfell, naval agents of London. They write on behalf of Captain JCG Roberts until recently in command of HMS Merope and who has now been appointed to HMS Plyades. They enclose a copy of the document evidencing that appointment and ask for confirmation of that change of command.

Folios 221-222: enclosure to folios 219-220. A letter from Sir Edward Pellew Vice Admiral of the Red, on board HMS Caledonian, dated 25 April 1814, to John Charles Gawen Roberts Commander of HMS Merope appointing him to act as Commander of HMS Plyades
