Folios 184-185: Thomas Renwick, HMS Mercurius, Grimsby, Humber. He announces his arrival together with the four transports HMS Jupiter, HMS Bulmer, HMS Mansfield and HMS Aria which have on board the garrison and stores from the Island of Anholt. He encloses a copy of his letter to Sir Thomas Williams and his log of proceedings (neither enclosed) indicating that he sailed on 19 September 1814. In the log of proceedings he lists articles which had to be left behind as he had no means of transporting them. These included a number of guns, shot, some waggons and miscellaneous stores. He encloses a copy of a list made by Lieutenant Stewart. (not enclosed) He believes that these might be useful but the masters of the transports refused to take them. They claimed that if they did their vessels might be detained. Captain Renwick is doubtful of this excuse and thinks it should be explored further.
Folio 186: Enclosure to folios 184-185: copy letter from Thomas Renwick to Lieutenant Thomas Stewart, Agent for the Transports. The letter instructs him to take on board such stores from the Island of Anholt that the masters of the transport vessels Bulmer and Jupiter are prepared to carry without encumbering the troops and horses.
