Folios 179-180: J.R. Ricketts, HMS Vengeur, Plymouth Sound. He announces he has drawn on the treasury the sum of £250, as permitted by the additional Naval printed instructions for the embarking of general officers and he asks the Admiralty to approved the sum. He entertained on board Major General Kempt and his staff, whom he embarked at the Gironde River, as commanded by Lord Viscount Keith. The General left this ship at the River St Lawrence on 6 August, making in total stay of nine weeks. He observes that at the time the exchange rate was 25% against him both at Bordeaux and in America.
Folio 181: enclosure to folios 179-180. Order dated 4 June 1814 given by The Right Honorable Lord Viscount Keith, Admiral of the Red to Captain JR Ricketts off HMS Venguer. Captain Ricketts is ordered to receive Major General Kempt and his staff on board for passage.
